A downloadable game for Windows

Video games are designed for the player to win. But in Final Boss Protocol, you are the final boss—destined to lose. Unless, of course, you break the system.

Minish Cap is one of my favourite games of all time and I wanted to reimagine how the final boss fight might look.

I developed this project to focus on programming AI behaviour. With each defeat, the enemy player becomes smarter and will learn how to dodge your attacks and come up with more efficient strategies for dealing damage. This project is a proof of concept for a new method of deriving player behaviour for NPC agents. This is an on-going topic of research.

Your game starts at 10:20. This was so fun and taking out Link was challenging so every victory felt earned. The attacks were fun to use but I was always on the losing end with the fire ball. Watching Link learn and react to our tactics made it feel like fighting a real person. The only suggestion would be to call Link something different, so it feels more like your individual creation. Keep up the good work!
